Job Summary
Collaboratively develop and implement corporate wide inventory policies and practices. Support new product introductions, product phase outs, budget planning activities and general oversight of MCS inventory objectives.
Essential Job Functions:
-Develop and implement inventory best practices with accountability for key performance metrics (inventory days, dollars, lead-time reduction), strategy development, risk mitigation, demand/supply planning and support of annual and long range planning objectives.
-Help define supply chain/inventory strategy and align human and technical resources and priorities that are consistent with agreed upon business direction.
-Develop collaborative relationships with Procurement, Sales, Product Managers, Operations and Customers in an effort to improve service levels while lowering inventory days-on-hand.
-Oversee and direct the area of Demand Planning, ensuring planning and forecasting functions grow together to meet performance goals. These functions should be developed around best practices that account for differing needs that exist by channel, customer and program. Cross functional collaboration with other areas of the company will be an on-going requirement for success.
-Participate as required in new product introductions to develop appropriate inventory plan as part of the Stage-Gate process.
-Develop target inventory parameters focused on best practices and inventory reduction (budget process). Facilitate a Kaizen approach with Operations/Divisions to promote standards and best practice sharing. Experience with continuous improvement tools and techniques required.
-Ensure Demand Planning function develops a strategic role in the company to drive future value added solutions such as Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI), consignment programs and consolidation of suppliers, inventory and locations.
-Work closely with Finance to develop monthly inventory reserve analysis for overstock and obsolete goods. Coordinate product life cycle management with Product Management teams. Manage E&O inventory-including reserve analysis.
-Contribute to the S&OP process and reporting that is a central planning tool cross functionally for the entire company.
-Accountable for MCS and Masco HQ data requests.
-May participate in Masco Corporate activities as needed.
-Develop, document, and implement a standard system for audits to assure compliance with all SOX and Inventory Standard Work Instructions.
-Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, continuing education, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in Procurement and the Supply Chain.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
-Bachelors Degree in Business, Supply Chain or Materials
Management.
-Ability to drive consensus in a diverse team environment
-5 years experience in Materials Management
-Proven track record in driving inventory reduction
-Experience with Six Sigma, Lean manufacturing, Kaizen
-Experience in supplier management or external supply chains
-Excellent communication and presentation skills
-Knowledge to budget and analyze financial data
- Ability to relate to individuals at all levels of the organization
-Intermediate-advanced knowledge of the MS Office suit.
-Travel up to 25% of time
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
-Experience in the Builder Segment or Distribution Supply Chain.
-Prior experience in developing a Supply Chain and Inventory
Strategy at a corporate level (multi-divisional organization)
-Prior experience in implementing an ERP system
